Contour Kit, Make Up Revolution | Review

Hello everyone. Recently I have been loving messing around a bit more with my makeup. I started off by just adding some bronzer into my routine to see how this worked out and once I felt I became confident using this, I decided I could upgrade to getting a contour/sculpt and highlight kit. I'm not one to go all out with the different lines all over my face but I do admit that knowing where to put shading and adding a highlight onto my face really makes a difference... especially for those all important selfies!
As I am in no way a pro at anything makeup related, I decided I would start with something budget, to give it a try and practice with. I'm pretty sure you should be starting to guess by now that I love budget makeup brands. And one in particular that I can't get enough of is Makeup Revolution. Walking into Superdrug to decide which pallet I was going to go for, I was honestly spoilt for choice. They seem to be so popular at the moment but the one I ultimately went for was obviously the Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour kit, light medium. I loved this one when I first saw it as it didn't look too over complicated, some of them had nearing to 8 different shades and textures on one pallet and, as I'm no pro, I just got a bit freaked out by it all.

The shades in this kit are really easy to work with also. The bronzer shade looks dark at first look, however using a small amount on your brush to start with works really well. I find it is a really good shade to build up for a more intense, dramatic look for night time and just a light contour for those everyday cheek bone effects!

The highlight in this pallet isn't the best one that I have seen. However it worked for what I needed it for as a beginner. I just feel that it doesn't give the same glow as some of the others I have tried. If you are looking for more of a subtle glow though then this is perfect. I find it particularly good for everyday wear as it just adds that extra dimension to my face without looking like i'm going clubbing at 10am on a Monday morning (wishful thoughts!).
I also haven't used the blush from this one. I tried it when I was first playing around but it felt that it just didn't match my skin tone right. I felt that I was left with little orange-y shaded cheeks, in stead of the cute rosie ones I suit much more. Therefore I just don't use it. However I can imagine the full pallet working well on someone with a more olive tone to their skin. I am just way too pale to pull off the bronzed look unfortunately!

All in all this is a really great starter pallet for those of you, like me, who are looking to get on the contour band wagon but are not really sure where to start. I would definitely recommend this, the price is really great so even if you feel that you can't get the hang of it, you're not breaking the bank. It's small and compact so really easy to travel with and fits straight into your handbag if you're wanting to keep your look topped up during the day. Another point there actually, the lasting power of the kit is really great. It last all day at work for me and the end of the day results very rarely vary from the results I get as soon as it has been applied.

I would love to look into a more advance contour look now, especially a great highlight, leave your recommendations below! Thanks for stopping by and until next time my lovelies.

Tattydays Is Making A Comeback!

tattydays comeback
Hello everyone! It's been a while. I've taken a massive break and to be honest have suffered from massive writers block! We all go through it, I've probably just taken a bit longer to get over it than most people.
However, baby I am back! And I'm so excited about it. I've got a proper schedule together now and loads of post ideas I'm so excited to share with you all. I've got 2 posts scheduled to come out after this one! I know, this is serious, keep calm!
Just going to lay all my cards out and let you know that I'm not going to promise I'll be uploading 3 posts a week or some crazy schedule that some of you lovely lot manage to stick to, but I am going to be doing a lot more posts, sharing lots of little things that I love. There are so many bloggers I know that try to juggle a full time job, a blogging schedule and an actual life in the middle of it all. It is hard work but I'm over it, and it's happening so be prepared!
I'll be doing a lot of fashion and beauty posts as those are the things I love to talk about the most. But I will be throwing in a few more lifestyle bits as well and just lots of general rambles of my life that I feel I need to get off my chest - and the world wide web is the best place to do that, obviously!
I am also in the process of giving my blog a reshuffle around and bring it up to date so there is that excitement all to come, watch this space!
So, there is me. I'm coming back to it and I just wanted to do this post to let you know that I've not totally neglected my little internet corner and there will be a lot more to come in the coming months.

I hope I see you around here more often.

Lots of love, until next time my lovelies.

A Bedroom Tour | Tattydays

Hello everyone! January blues are definitely starting to set in. The weather is cold, my nose wont stop running and I don't think I have ever been so poor in all my life! Here's when I thought to myself what makes me happy? My conclusion: My bedroom.
There is nothing I like more than getting cosy with a good Netflix series in the surroundings of my bedroom. I moved in around 2 years ago and never actually wrote a blog post about it! Well, now the time has come where I really want to share my favourite space with you guys.
Lamp - Next Home
Photo frame - Daisy (local crafts shop)
Candle holders - yankee & gifts
Decorative pots - collected from Greece
My bedside table is probably the most personal space in my room. It is important, I think, to have essential items next to your bed. I know people have skin care and makeup etc. However for me candles, handcream and moisturiser are my most favourite items. Also, the love of my life has to feature on there somewhere!
Rope lamp - Next home
Cat candle holder - gift
Red candle holder - yankee candle
Love, love, love details! This gorgeous rope lamp from Next Home is the perfect addition to compliment the rustic theme to my space. I am much more of a traditional lover, hence the more rustic theme. Also how adorable is my little cat candle holder? This was a Christmas present this year from my brother - a beautiful addition to my room.
Lyrical plaque - M&S £5

Coaster - Gift

All items in this photograph are gifts!

Post card cushion - BHS £15
Bee cushion - M&S £12
Other cushions - unknown
Reindeer bedding - Next home
Love and bees are a strong feature in my room - as you can see! (apoligies for the reindeer bedding - it's the cosiest bedding that I have and it has been so cold the past few days I really don't want to change it!) With my nickname being Bea (pronounced like bumble bee) anything that has any resemblence to a bee must be brought and placed in my room imediately! Plus they are so cute anyway!
Books - various
Bookend - TK Maxx

Caption plaque - gift
Candle - yankee candle

Bee plate - M&S
Candle - yankee candle
Wooden cat ornament - TK Maxx
Candle - unknown
Bird ornament - unkown
The windowcill in my room is one of my favourite features! At Christmas time it is filled with reindeer and cute things and during the rest of the year my lovely little ornamtents come out. All of them are either lovely gifts brought to add some love to the room or added to the collection over the couple of years. I still love all of them and even though I buy new things to add to it all the time, I still love all  these little bits and bobs so much! I love being able to have my little collection of books on the ledge nearest to where I sleep so a good read is only an arms reach away. Obviously candles have to feature along the ledge, my room would not be half as cosy without them. Especially in the dark January months, just lighting a candle can be so calming it creates such a relaxed atmoshpere to be in.
My dressing table is the place I make myself actually look like a human being! I love being able to have it all in one place and although I could do with a little bit more storage to arrange my makeup better, it's perfect for now. I have all my accessories on here too so that makes it easy to assemble an entire look all in one place. Most of the items on this table are again gifts! All apart from my fabulous make up bag which was purchased from a local home bird shop and the grey earing holder which was from Sainsburys!
French Connection Brush Set - Gift
Grey earing keep sake box - Sainsburys £5
Butterfly Jewelry box - gift
Jewelry chest - Gift
I just added this little detail photograph because I love this little hanging cushion! I think this might have been another gift from my mum! Two little love birds, the patterns and detailing is just adorable!
I couldn't do a bedroom tour without featuring the best part of my room. My bed! It is such a feature bed and I'm not really sure how it happened that we went for something so different. As soon as I saw it I totally fell in love with it. I love pine anyway and I knew that my room was going to be rustic and a bit vintage so I felt that this just fitted perfect with the theme of the room. It is also real cannon balls on the four posts of the bed so having such a unique detail was a bonus! I also wanted to show you the wallpaper as it is just what I wanted and was an absolute bargain from Next home at £15 a roll!!! It looks stunning and people always comment saying how lovely and different it is, I feel that it contributes really well to making the room feel warm.

And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed taking a tour around my cosy bedroom! Did it bring you some warmth on this chilly Saturday? I certainly hope so. I am currently sat in a rabbit onesie with a cup of tea snuggled into my bed and this is where I'm going to stay for a couple more hours!

Leave me a comment with your favourite feature and you have done any similar posts I would love to have a look, let me know!
Until next time my lovelies,

Apologies & Goals for 2016

Hello everyone! I hope you have all been keeping well. Did you have a lovely Christmas? Mine was perfect! It's my favourite time of the year so I do just cherish every moment. How fast has it gone though? I feel like I've not even had chance to blink and I'm already prepping to go back to work on Monday!

Speaking of working this is a good lead to my apologies to you all. Before I start going all cliche and soppy... hopefully not too soppy, i'll try and keep it minimal, I just wanted to apologise for my absence not only on my blog but on social media in general. The end of 2015 was so mad busy it was unbelievable. I think this is why I feel that everything has just flown by and I've not had chance to stop and think never mind plan decent content to put out. I know people use work as an excuse and sometimes that excuse doesn't cut it but with my office moving and working so hard to get everything in the new office organised etc, to say it has been difficult is an under statement! My free time has been totally taken up by trying to keep my social life on track and sleeping! So I do apologise to my lovely readers BUT it's now a new year and I'm feeling more motivated than ever to get my content up to scratch. Which nicely leads on to my next point - 5 things I would like to achieve this year.

So I know 5 things doesn't seem like that much but I'm the kind of person that doesn't really tend to make goals, I just tend to take things as they come and have one thing at a time that I am working towards. Funnily enough, one of my targets this year is to aim higher so I feel that for me working towards 5 goals is a step in the right direction

1. Create a working blogging schedule
I didn't want to just put 'blog more' as I feel that everyone who struggles to find the time anyway would want to achieve to blog more. Since starting my blog I just intended it to be a hobby when I got the time to put content out. However, now I have a few readers and I'm excited to get more and more content out which means a more structured schedule will really help me to plan my posts and ensure the content I create is the best it can be. I'm looking to treat myself to one of these baby's from The Bloggers Planner
2. Star my career journey
Those who know me know that I didn't go to university or complete college I started working at 16 literally not having any clue what so ever what I wanted to do or where my skills were. It has taken me 5 years to finally figure out what on earth I want to do with my life. This is actually a really exciting goal this year as it will either mean that I will become happier in my current company, or I will be starting a new job (which is easier said than done I am well aware of this!). Either way it is so important to me this year that I get on the right track to achieving my career goals and to do that I have to get started somewhere so 2016 is that start. Wish me luck! This time next year I could be writing to you from my pent house in London... Or not, a girl can dream.

3. Get my skin under control
I struggle on a daily basis with acne. I go through various pain/break out phases. Don't get me wrong I do have a good skin care routine that does help to keep it sort of under control. What I really mean by this goal is to see a specialist. I was referred to a dermatologist once when I was a teenager who wasn't very helpful at all at the point in my life. With this I have been meaning for a while now to check myself in with a private dermatologist to help me understand more about my condition and to really get some better treatment. I have lived with it long enough now just using prescribed treatment, all of which has only worked in periods at a time.

4.  Improve my photography
Following on from my blogging schedule goal: A good blog comes with great photographs. Therefore I am going to make it an aim of mine to get better. I'm probably going to invest in a better camera but until I get a good pay packet to allow me to do that, I''m going to have to stick with the one that I have. Just because it's not an amazing camera though doesn't mean that I can't take some better pictures. I would like to attend a night class or something to this effect but as I struggle with managing my time at the moment, I think i'm going to make a start on some self teach books for the time being! I'm excited to see the results to be honest so lets see how this goes!

5. Travel more
Basically my number one life goal is to travel. This comes from my mum who has always talked about how much she wanted to go travelling or places she would love to visit but life has run away with her and she never got the time to visit all of these places. Not saying that she never will she still has a good life left in her! However I'm just so worried of not getting the time to see the places that I want to before I settle down. I'm not talking about going round the world this year but to start with there is so much of Britain that i've not even seen yet and Europe. So instead of going on a holiday I would prefer to do some travelling even if just to start with it's just around Britain. It's a start to my adventure that I'm so desperate to make.

So there you have it. My 5 aims for 2016. I'm looking forward to coming back to this post at the end of the year to see how I got on with them. What are you goals for this year? I would love to hear what you're aiming to achieve, let me know in the comments!

Until next time my lovelies,
